On September 29th, there was a program titled “Entrepreneurship Development Training for Youth in Business Counseling. It was organized by LCWS with financial support from LWF Nepal. The training spanned a single day and took place in the hall of the ward office of Gauradah Municipality, Ward No. 1, in the presence of group members from within Gauradah Municipality. The training has been facilitated by Mr. Hem Khadka and Mrs. Nirmala Magar. There were 53 participants in this program, comprising 50 females and 3 males.
The program began with an introduction to Entrepreneurship Development (EDP), outlining the main objectives of the training and emphasizing the importance of skill development for generating income and fostering growth. It mentors young entrepreneurs on business management methods that contribute to community resilience, social progress, and the impact of startups on economic development by creating employment opportunities for local residents.
The training provided insights into measures that can be adopted for effectively managing a business, strategies for integrating innovation into ongoing operations, and techniques for identifying opportunities. It emphasized the importance of strong family support in business endeavours. Additionally, participants learned how to assess profits and losses, maintain business records, and gained awareness in this regard.
One participant remarked, ‘This training is instrumental in developing entrepreneurial abilities. It imparts the skills necessary for successfully running a business, and it also includes the finer aspects of polishing those skills.’
In addition, Sujit Soren, Program Officer at LCWS, said, ‘This training enhances the capacity of targeted youth to easily access financial services, thereby improving market access for selected high-value sectors or businesses. It also aids in enhancing youths’ application of fundamental business management skills, not only in various sectors but also in agriculture.’
